2008 Santa Julia “Organica” Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza, Argentina, made with organically grown grapes, $9.50 at Twisted Cork, tasted 2/17/2009.
Tobacco, mulberry, and herbal aromas continued to open with air. It exhibited a medium level of fruit with tannins that persisted in the finish. This wine was still a baby when tasted and should benefit from a couple of years to resolve the tannins. A nice value, especially for an “organic” wine. Recommended with grilled meats, steaks, or firm cheeses such as cheddars. The Raymond Rating = 85 points.
