2008 P.K.N.T. “Silver Collection” Sauvignon Blanc, Central Valley, Chile, 13% alcohol, pH 3.09, RS 4.5 g/L, tasted 8/20/2009, $7.99.  Medium grassy nose with herbal and grapefruit peel aromas.  Not overly acidic, good fruit, rather simple, easy-drinking, but varietally correct Sauvignon Blanc.  (Distributed by Sonny with Bryant) Raymond Rating = 84 points

2008 P.K.N.T. “Silver Collection” Chardonnay, Central Valley, Chile, 13.5% alcohol, pH 3.12, RS 6 g/L, tasted 8/20/2009, $7.99.  Pear and apricot aromas with moderately buttery notes.  Good fruit, though quite simple with a short finish.  A decent quaff for the money.  (Distributed by Sonny with Bryant) Raymond Rating = 81 points

2008 P.K.N.T. “Silver Collection” Pinot Noir, Central Valley, Chile, 12.7% alcohol, pH 3.4, RS 4.1 g/L, tasted 8/20/2009, $7.99.  Aromas of plastic, berry hard candy, red apple peel, and light earthy notes.  Good fruit, though simple with a short finish.  A very soft, easy-drinking, pleasant quaff, and a great value for a Pinot Noir.  (Distributed by Sonny with Bryant) Raymond Rating = 84 points

2008 P.K.N.T. “Silver Collection” Carmenere, Central Valley, Chile, 13.5% alcohol, pH 3.5, RS 6.0 g/L, tasted 8/20/2009, $7.99.  A slight burnt match smell blew off with air.  The nose had aromas of berries, tar, and herbal notes.  Good fruit, though simple with a short finish.  Soft tannins in an easy-drinking Carmenere.  (Distributed by Sonny with Bryant) Raymond Rating = 83 points

2008 P.K.N.T. “Silver Collection” 60% Shiraz + 40% Carmenere, Central Valley, Chile, 13.5% alcohol, pH 3.5, RS 6.0 g/L, tasted 8/20/2009, $7.99.  A pretty nose of berries and black cherries with some light tarry notes.  Good fruit, light/medium tannins, and medium length.  This was the star of this particular tasting.  (Distributed by Sonny with Bryant) Raymond Rating = 86 points

Non-vintage ChocoVine, Dutch chocolate and French Cabernet, product of Holland, 14% alcohol, tasted 8/20/2009, $11.25.  Tasted to me like chocolate milk with a kick.  Some people likened it to Bailey’s.  Serve well chilled so that the fairly high alcohol is less noticeable.  (Distributed by Sonny with Bryant) Raymond Rating = (not rated)
